The Brix Hotel
The development team acquired The Carlton Savannah Hotel as part of a new hospitality portfolio to promote tourism in Trinidad. The hotel that originally opened in 2009 was due fora full renovation. With the purchase in 2016, came a great opportunity to rebrand. The name ‘The Brix’ (unit of measurement in sugar), was chosen by ownership as it was reminiscent of a big part in history of Trinidad’s maj or trades. The new renovation is to include a new signature restaurant, a grab-n-go and a rooftop venue with breathtaking views of the city. Words like ‘sophisticated, clubby, worldly and diverse’ were used by the branding team to introduce the new design for the entire hotel. SOW Design’s role was to act as executive architect and orchestrate the full coordination of consultants that participated in this new renovation.
