Hampton Inn Leon
Marking the first Hilton-branded hotel in Leon, Mexico, SOW was very excited to work on this new addition to what is considered the hospitality district in Leon. Leon is characterized for manufacturing and their annual expo fairs that flood the city with visitors from all over the world. The site is located across the boulevard from the civic center where the Guanajuato Museum of anthropology, the state library and main university sit. The architecture of the Hampton Inn hotel responds to the hotel chain's brand standards but also to the regional climate of Leon. The change in use (to office spaces) at the top three floors of the building gave us an opportunity to articulate the Bris soleil overhang space that provides shade for the south facing glass walls.
